How to Use Young Living Copaiba Essential Oil

Pronounced co-pah-ee-ba, this oil is known as a magnifier. When you use copaiba with another oil, it will magnify the properties of that oil. It’s a great way to extend the life of any oil (especially the more expensive ones)!

Young Living Copiaba

Copaiba…

*supports your body’s natural response to injury or irritation
*traditionally used in native teas to soothe digestive discomforts
*great for physical discomfort
*supports emotional well-being
*copaiba essential oil contains the highest amounts of beta caryophyllene: 55%! (Research it!)
*dilute and apply to the jaw (outer cheek area) for teething little ones. Can also be combined with lavender for this use.

Copaiba Vitality:

*Mix with honey and warm water to create a calming tea.
*Dilute and apply to gums of teething little ones

I slept in a bed with my almost 2 year old daughter on a trip recently, and needless to say, my back hurt so much the next morning! (Toddlers love to hog the bed and leave you in some uncomfortable positions on a very small portion of the bed! Lol) I immediately applied diluted Panaway (my usual go-to oil for this), but it just wasn’t enough that day. I then tried applying copaiba neat on the same area on my back. Wow! Such a relief!

Have you tried copaiba yet? It was one of the last oils I tried in my premium starter kit, but I use it often now.

How to Use Young Living Digize Essential Oil Blend

digize

Digize is a Young Living essential oil blend of tarragon, ginger, peppermint, juniper, fennel, anise, patchouli, and lemongrass.  I kept this blend with me in a roller ball mixed with coconut oil (to dilute) throughout the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays when I ate more food than normal as well as more sweets and “junk food” than usual.  Digize kept my stomach happy with those food changes during that time.

*This blend is great for any digestive or tummy issues (it includes peppermint, which is also great for this purpose)
*Its a great oil to have on hand when traveling
*Apply Digize on belly and bellybutton as needed
*I like to dilute Digize with coconut oil in a roller for easy application
*If you don’t like the smell, you can apply it to the bottoms of your feet and then put on socks

Both of my children struggled with constipation at a young age.  My son was eventually put on Miralax at the age of three once things like prune juice and vegetables were no longer helping him in this area.  I hated the fact that he was taking this medicine that was not really made for children (especially that young!), and had been shown to cause issues later in life if the child took it for an extended period of time (do a quick google search and you’ll find what I found).  Unfortunately, at the time I felt like it was my only choice for him because of the difficulties he was having without it.

Thankfully, about four months after his fourth birthday I ordered my Young Living premium starter kit, which included Digize.  By this point we had weaned him off of the Miralax, and he was doing better with an increase of green leafy vegetables in his diet.  However, my daughter, who was almost 1 and a half at this point had begun to struggle with the same symptoms my son had at the beginning when prune juice and vegetables did work for him.  While I did give her those things, I didn’t find much difference.  After worrying over the fact that she hadn’t gone in a few days, I applied diluted Digize to her bellybutton and belly that morning, and by lunchtime she was regular again.  Now when her tummy is bothering her, she’ll point to my oil cabinet and say “bellybutton!”

I will always keep this great oil in stock in my home now.  I was able to avoid putting my daughter on the medicine that I hated having my son dependent on.  Now, with the use of this amazing, high-quality, natural essential oil blend, I don’t worry about having to give either of my children medicine to keep them regular.  By the way, this oil works well on adults too, if needed.

How to Use Young Living Peppermint Essential Oil

Every Friday you can look forward to posts on recipes with essential oils, diffusing combinations, and information on individual oils.  I’m going to start with the oils in the Premium Starter Kit because that is the way that most people start their essential oils journey, and I want to give you the tools you need to know what to do with the oils you purchase.  Haven’t purchased your starter kit yet? I’d love to be the person who helps you learn all about essential oils and their great applications, just click here to get started.

Peppermint is one of the oils that I use on an almost daily basis.  It has so many various uses that it is a great essential oil to keep with you in your purse or pocket! It’s also an ideal oil to share with others as their first experience with Young Living oils.

Peppermint essential oil is found in Deep Relief and Breathe Again roll-ons, Clarity, Cool Azul, Digize, M-Grain, Panaway, RC, Thieves, and Aromaease essential oil blends, just to name a few.

Ready to put peppermint to use? Here are a few ways to use this great essential oil:

*Supports the digestive system (apply to your belly)
*Refreshing and invigorating (great to use before a workout or to open up your airways)
*Diffuse for mental sharpness and concentration
*Apply to temples (careful to avoid your eyes), or one drop to the roof of your mouth for head discomfort
*Peppermint Vitality oil tastes great in a cup of hot chocolate or coffee  (you only need 1 drop)
*Mix with water in a spray bottle and spray along baseboards and corners to keep pests away
*Dilute with a carrier oil and apply to the bottoms of your feet to reduce fever
*Mix with water to make a fresh breath spray
*Combine with lemon and lavender to create a “seasonal discomfort” blend

Peppermint can be intense, so if you use too much, simply add a carrier oil (like coconut oil) to dilute it.

My first experience with Young Living Peppermint essential oil was this past summer.  In the car, on the way to Atlanta for our family vacation, I got a headache. I had remembered to bring most of my oils with me, so I took out my peppermint vitality oil and placed a drop on the roof of my mouth. Within minutes, I was feeling much better!  I’m not a fan of using Tylenol or Ibuprofen to begin with (I seriously may use them once or twice a year), so instead of just dealing with the headache, as I usually do, this was a great alternative! I also sometimes add a drop of peppermint vitality oil to my coffee in the morning (or afternoon….) for an energizing, sweet treat. My favorite combo to diffuse with peppermint is lemon, lavender, and peppermint, which is called the “seasonal discomfort” blend.  It works very well and smells even better!

What are your favorite ways to use Young Living’s peppermint essential oil?
